Territorial Committee (anglais)

CAPE’s Territorial Committee convenes on an ad-hoc basis in response to emerging issues across the North. Previous work has included advocacy with regards to health impact assessments for hydraulic fracturing in the NWT, input into the development of Canada’s National Food Guide, and work with the NWT Association of Communities to convene a conversation about observed impacts of climate change on health across the North. The CAPE-supported « Summer of Smoke » project which was carried out in partnership with the Yellowknives Dene and the Ka’a’ga Tee First Nation, looking into the health effects of the extreme 2014 wildfire season, was published in BMJ Open and the Canadian Journal of Public Health, and has helped to ignite a conversation nationally and internationally around the respiratory and mental health impacts of wildfires.

If you live in the Yukon, the NWT, or Nunavut and would like to have a conversation about an initiative in your area, send us an email at tr@cape.ca.
