Dr. Sehjal Bhargava

Dr. Sehjal Bhargava is a Public Health and Preventive Medicine and Family Medicine Resident Physician in her PGY2 year at the University of Ottawa. She is originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She has been involved with CAPE for the last five years as the founder and past Chair of CAPE SK, and current co-chair of CAPE ON. Dr. Bhargava works at an inner-city family health team in Ottawa and is passionate about the intersections of the environment on health, health promotion, access to care, and the health of structurally marginalized persons. Her past and current advocacy and research has focused on health benefits of nature, equity-based approaches to adapting to extreme heat events, the health risks of fossil fuel infrastructure, and climate change as an inequitable risk factor to health.
