Senator Rosa Galvez is a civil-environmental engineer and president of ParlAmericas’ Parliamentary Network on Climate Change. Appointed to the Senate in 2016, she brings expertise in environmental engineering and climate risk assessment. Previously chair of Laval University’s Department of Civil and Water Engineering, she is an internationally recognized researcher who advocates for science-based policy and women in politics. Her achievements include publishing influential white papers on clean recovery and climate-aligned finance, and receiving numerous awards including the Clean50 Award and Women of Influence Award. She continues championing environmental sustainability through policy development.
