Ingrid Waldron, PhD

Ingrid Waldron is a professor and HOPE Chair in Peace and Health at McMaster University. She founded the ENRICH Project and co-founded the Canadian Coalition for Environmental and Climate Justice. Her groundbreaking research on environmental racism led to Canada’s first environmental racism/justice law in 2024. Her book “There’s Something in the Water” became a Netflix documentary co-produced with Elliot Page. Waldron’s advocacy created Nova Scotia’s first health service exclusively for Black women. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and continues to champion environmental justice and health equity for racialized communities.
