CAPE’s 2024-25 annual report: A year of remarkable impact

Last year, the Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE) celebrated three decades of advocacy with another impactful year. Here’s what we accomplished in 2024-2025:

Highlights of an Extraordinary Year

  • Nationwide momentum: 10 anniversary events brought together 500 participants across Canada
  • Expanding community: Over 500 new supporters joined regional committees
  • Media powerhouse: 288 media stories featuring CAPE physicians across 97 outlets
  • Influential voice: Ranked as the 3rd top health lobbying organization in Canada
  • Record-breaking growth: Largest budget and revenues in CAPE’s 30-year history.

Making Real Change Happen

Behind these figures is the daily work of building relationships with communities most affected by the climate crisis. We stood alongside Indigenous leaders confronting fossil fuel pollution, supported renters at risk from extreme heat, and advocated for rural families harmed by industrial emissions. Our campaigns tackled greenwashing, pushed for stronger regulations on carbon pollution, and trained healthcare professionals to become effective planetary health advocates.

This milestone year proves that when physicians, supporters and storytellers work together, we create a powerful force for planetary health!
