Dr. Julia Sawatzky is an emergency medicine resident physician at the University of Alberta and a co-chair of CAPE Alberta. During medical school, Julia worked with and led the Canadian Federation of Medical Students Health and Environment Adaptive Response Task Force (CFMS HEART) to advance planetary health education in Canadian medical schools. She holds an MSc in Global Health and Epidemiology and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Oxford, and hopes to weave together her interests in population health, clinical medicine, and public policy to help shape a healthy, sustainable, and justice-oriented future.
